Ok so I ordered one of those “bonsai” kits that came with a single giant ficus religosa seed (acorn?) it has been doing pretty good since planting it in October. Recently it lost its youngest set of leaves. They never browned but shriveled got thinner and fell off. Now one leaf off each of the older sets has fallen and I’m beginning to worry. I transplanted to bonsai soil after the cat knocked the pot over about a month ago.

Those acorn lookalike seeds has been discussed at the forum recently. I think the conclusion that they are not ficus seeds. So first thing is to try identifying what species you have in order to understand its needs.

Thank you. Can anyone identify this species? I’ve tried a few of those photo identify apps but it seems my lack of plant knowledge and the app both fail me
