Hello,
I have a pine collected from a garden, it's a spreading variety that I have kept in this pot while I decide what to do with it.
The trunk has a beautiful shape and a dramatic split occured at some point.
I am considering training the short branch a the split into the main branch for a cascade or semi cascade but I am hesitating. Any other reads on this tree and its possibilities?
Thanks,
S

Correct.
regarding your question: let i recover for at least a year to get its vigour back. Meanwhile you have the time to look at the tree and look some more to come up with a plan.
It is very difficult to give styling advices based on a 2d picture and not knowing your skill level
