Inherited tree, has a random rhododendron growing beside it? was created by Silv14

Hello,Relatively new to 名媛直播. I inherited a collection of trees from a family who didn't know what to do with them, as their care taker passed away late last year. I've learned a lot, and have identified several of the trees, as well as brought many of them back from near death... fortunately most of them are dormant. I have one pot with two slender trees (unidentified yet) and a random rhododendron bush (not azalea) shoot, that has grown to about the same height as the trees. I'm assuming this was not an intentional growth, and the Rhody managed to just find its way into the soil. I do recall a fairly large rhody bush growing nearby where all of the trees had been kept. I'm looking for some input on what you more experienced artist would do in this scenario? I'm assuming the rhody will fight with the trees for nutrients, and such. Wondering how you would go about removing the invading plant, or if you would just opt to kill it chemically since the roots are probably pretty well established?Thank you ahead of time!

This happens every now and then. I separate such invasive shoots when repotting, and probably would put the rhododendron in its own pot.
