Hey
This was my first attempt at making a bonsai from juniper stock. It’s not quite a cascade so do you think I’d get away with a rectangular or oval deepish pot?

I like the idea of an oval for young plants like that one.

I'm not entirely sure yet, as it was a first attempt. I assume if I want to thicken it I leave in the nursery pot?

Yes, if you want it to thicken and grow more, you should even consider a bigger pot (right season), Net pots or even plastic colanders, those help a lot on the tree growth...
