I have a bonsai and it doesn’t look very well.. I’m also not sure what type it is to try and find information on how to care for it.

Looks like a Serissa, are you keeping it indoors?

Right, that looks similar when I google them but the bark isn't smooth. Does that sound right?

I've been keeping it outdoors, it was fine through winter but now the leaves are turning yellow. Is that bad?

Welcome to the forum.

How long after you wired it, did the tree start going yellow? Just to make sure it is not your wiring which damaged the tree.
Please tell us how you care for it, and when you repotted it too.

I was gifted the bonsai in September last year and it already had the wire installed. I haven't repotted it since I got it.

It seemed to go downhill once it got a bit hotter if that helps?
