Having never done any sort of bonsai I recently pruned, wired and planted a small 5 tree forest from Dwarf Alberta Spruce trees from a nursery. I have been watching and reading as much as I can to learn what to do as a beginner. I realize I still need to do additional cleanup work and pruning. I have planted this in a training pot and feel like I should add maybe additional smaller trees to fill in some space? My ultimate plan was to let the forest grow for at least a year before doing anything else. Attached are some photos before, during and after. Any suggestions and/or feedback is welcome.

First of all - it's your forest, so listen to what anybody says with the appropriate hesitation. Get enough opinions here and every single idea will be contradicted by somebody else. Remember that.
It think it looks very good. I would lean the outside trees a little outside, because they are all parallel and that looks a little boring - to me. I might add some little trees there, maybe two or four, but maybe not. You would need some pretty small ones. I might cut off the lowest branch on the right and on the middle, and might try to root them, which could be a source of two little trees to add to the forest in a couple of years.
A year from now I would probably swap the center tree and the left tree. I would sort of like the tallest tree in the center.
But, it looks like a pretty good job.

We are all beginners at some time. Enjoying the process and the result is more important than what other thinks. With that beeing said, here is my input:
In bonsai forests I think the real beauty comes from differences. Difference in hight, thickness and spacing. On a two dimensional picture this forest looks more as a comercial tree plantation rather than an old forest. The hight, thickness and spacing is too similar. Hight and thickness can be developed different on the existing trees over time. Spacing can be changed adding a few more trees. But I really think that replacing one of the trees with a bigger and thicker tree would make a big difference.
I like what you have done to the individual trees. Unfortunately das is virtually impossible to set branches with wire. When you unwire they just fall back to the original position. So when working on das, it is better to use branches that are more horizontal and cut the ones growing up.

Just a quick update. I was able to harvest some moss and added the moss to the forest.
