Evening all,
I was recently bought a chinese elm for a present.
I have uploaded pics of when I first got it and it 6 weeks later, plus close ups of my issue.
Its placed in a window facing East. I regularly check if it needs watering and I've started misting it.
Can you tell me if it's ok just because of a white colouring on the bark?
Some of the leaves are falling, green coloured and slightly crispy but not many on a daily basis.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Looking forward to the growing season to see its progress.
Many thanks to 名媛直播 Empire for providing the platform to get the best advice from many sources.

The white on the base can be too much wattering and/or not enough sun to dry it... Sometimes the white it's due to too much chlorine on the water, if it's that, you can solve by letting the water sit for a day before water it...
On spring/summer you should allow it to take as much sun as possible, better on the outside... It's completely normal to loose it's leaves by fall/winter...
