Hello everyone,
I have a 10 y/o Ligustrum and I noticed the leaves and some roots that are visible on the soil level are getting this purple dark colour.
Could you please help me understand what this is ? Is there anything I can do to revert it?
I only water it when the soil starts to feel dry so I dont this that can be a overwaterting case.
The bonsai is outside and it recently gone trough some cold nights ( 2-3 Celsius) - can it be a reaction to cold temperatures?
Thanks in advance

Looks like the leaves are a lil' bit frostbiten...
Those purple roots means they're fresh, just growing, maybe it's growing up on the soil for lack of space...

thank you very much for your reply!
The bonsai was repoted this year and I was told in the nursery that I should wait 2 years to repot it again
Is this dangerous for the bonsai health? should I take the bonsai inside ?
thank you

The roots growing up on the soil is not that dangerous, it's more like a signal. Is it draining well when you water it?
I don't think you should move it inside reducing the light... But maybe move to a place not too exposed to cold nights...
Let's wait to see what other people have to say... We don't have too many cold nights like this where I live

Thank you!
The temperatures are now much higher ( 8-9) but we had some cold nights in the begging of the month.
The soil drains very well.
Thank you for your response.
