Ficus ginseng not looking good, please help. was created by Laurenb

Hi,

I honestly know nothing about plants or bonsai trees. I have a ginseng ficus, last winter a lot of the leaves fell off. I just thought maybe this happened at winter and I just left it. They never grew back.

I have never pruned the plant as I don't know how to do this correctly.

I have also never changed the soil.

I water the plant when the soil appears dry.

I noticed lumps on the plant and read up that it could be scale? I will include photos please if anyone can help me as I really have no idea what I'm doing, I would love for the plant to be back to normal.

Maybe you should repot it with a more aired compost mix... Maybe someone can tell you better, but it looks that it's roots are too moisty.
Are you keeping it indoors?

Hi,

I had only just watered it to be honest. Yes it is kept indoors, I have moved it into a brighter window to see if that helps.

Thank you.
