Hi saviours. Someone got me this beautiful 20 y/o elm and I have no experience with bonsai.
I've had it for about 3 weeks now and it's decided to dry off its leaves and fall off - see pictures.

- I do not have an outside area so she stays indoors with plenty afternoon sun
- I stay in a temperate climate, summer at the moment so averaging 25 degrees maybe
- I have watered her only twice in the 3 weeks. Gave her a thorough water over the root mass
- Havent fertilised yet

Is she going through shock? Underwatered?

Heeeeeelp

(I removed the dead leaves as seen in second pic)

probably underwatered. All my plants inside get watered every 2-3 days.
In summer sometimes twice a day.

Elms need a dormant period, which comes on from cold. If you can't put it outside, you really need to do something to give it some cold air, close to 0C. Keeping it at room temperature all winter will keep it from going dormant and eventually will kill it.

Yeah, it looks under-watered from the pictures.
