Juniper bonsai - Gall or callus? Help please was created by teddyl

I found a brown round ball near the trunk on my new juniper today! I attached a picture and hoping for advice whether it’s a gall (nooo) or just a callus?

The ball is slightly softer than the surround bark and slightly cutting into it seems woody

It can be a Gall, try put it on a lil sunlight.

would sunlight kill it? I was thinking of cutting it out
