Please forgive my amateur hour here. I am just getting into bonsai.. I really want to start a Cryptomeria japanese cedar bonsai in chokkan style, but I am wondering if I can just buy a 2'-3' one and prune it down to bonsai size?
Will the leaves get smaller and more fine for bonsai? or am I doing it all wrong? Thanks in advance!
