I'm hoping someone can help me identify this 名媛直播, it was given as a gift. I believe its a tropical of some sort. What are the light requirements? Since I brought it home it has been near a window and the leaves have started to turn yellow. Our indoor temp is kept at a consistent 70 degrees F. Maybe it was too cold near the window? I have indoor grow lights I have placed it under them and plan on giving it about 10 hours of light per day.

It is not a bonsai. It is a plant in a pot.

Not very helpful. Can you elaborate? Does not look like a typical "plant" to me.

Its quite simple really: does it look like a miniature tree? Yes: bonsai. No: plant in pot
On a sidenote: that juniper needs to be outside always or it will die, no doubt about it

To me this looks like a miniature tree.... but you are the bonsai people so if you say plant, then plant it is.
I just got the juniper and did not want to put it out in the cold without having time to adjust. My plan was to put it outside permanently in the spring. Is that a terrible idea?

yup, it will be dead by then.
btw, why is the other one standing on pebbles? Trees dont like to be inside ( there is not one tree in the entire world that lives naturally indoors). There are of course tropical trees that need higher temperatures but they also need a higher humidity and air movement, something we can not provide in our homes ( unless you want water running from your walls). They also do not like to be moved ( i dont know any plants that move around on their own...). So, combine these two facts and you (and the other 99% of people coming here with " help my plant is dying" questions) get into trouble real quick with your new plants.

With that trunk size that tree are likelly to have been trunkshopped at least one time. I would call it prebonsai and start work to make it bonsai in the future. But first.....find out what it is. So I think you are in the right track. However, I cannot help with species.

It appears to be the same tree as my willow leaf ficus.
