I've had this bonsai for a few months and now its winter. I live in Illinois where it gets quite cold during the winter time, I was wondering if I should invest in a grow light for my bonsai? It will not be getting the same amount of light as it normally did during the summer months and I must keep it inside. The leaves are turning a lighter shade of green aswell, is this simply a sign of dormancy or inadequate sunlight?

A juniper must be kept outside or it will die, it’s as simple as that. Trees in nature do not migrate inside when it gets a bit colder

The lighter shade of green is a sign it is dying, or is already dead. They stay green for a while after they died, so it could have been a few weeks or month back when that happend.
