I have a mature Hawaiian umbrella (probably about 10 years old, I inherited it from a family member and am new to bonsai). I've had it for about 6 months and it has been through relocation (CT to OR) and a bad case of scale. I've treated the scale with neem oil and they seem to be all gone (I first noticed the scale in September and did a last neem oil treatment about 3 weeks ago). The tree looks fairly healthy with the exception it is dropping A LOT of it's mature leaves and is starting to look scarce. There is new growth happening as well. I've also recently noticed there are very tiny light brown raised bumps on the stem right below where the leaves are growing.
The soil is not dry, it is located indoors near a window (mostly afternoon light).
My questions: Is leaf drop normal for Hawaiian umbrellas?
-Are the raised bumps normal or could this be a sign of a pest? I can scrape them off with my fingers. I do not believe they are scale as they look much different than the scale that was previously infesting the tree.
Thank you and happy bonsai-ing!

the brown bumps are scale. It is not normal to drop leaves.
