Hi
My Dawn Redwood is very brown is this purely due to it being Autumn?
it lives outside in my south facing garden.
As this is my first Dawn redwood I'm not sure what happens over winter, I was under the impression the leaves fall off, however mine is just going brown.
I've checked the soil it's damp but not wet so I don't think it's too much water.
Should I just leave it?

Most desidious trees absorb the energy in the leaves before dropping them. When that happens the leafs turn colour.

Where are you based?
They will go brown before falling off in winter. Attached is a pic of my redwood forest from about a month ago (I live in London).
Probably 70% of mine now fallen and any left on the tree are brown. Don't worry, it's normal.
