I recieved a sophora prostrata a couple of weeks ago and some of the leaves are turing red and dropping. I keep it near a southern window with bright light and water about once a week. I don't have temperature control in my apartment so it gets to about 50 degrees F at night. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Does this happen anyways during the winter months?

I have tried sophora prostrata a few times indoors. So far with 100% failure. I have never heard anyone else succeed. Despite some care instructions online, I am quite sure it needs to be in a cold but frost free spot during winter to survive. It might survive inside under supplemental light, but I doubt it.
Not much of ?n answer, I know. I Will try to overwinter one next year as I now have a place with the environment I think works.
