The tips of my bonsai tree seem to be turning brown. Should I prune them and how far back? What kind of bonsai is it? What is necessary for these type of bonsai trees?

First of all that is not a bonsai but just a young juniper in a pot ( it is not a "kind of bonsai" but a species of plant/tree, bonsai is not a species). Second if that pot doesnt have a drainage hole in it it will die . Third, if you keep it inside it will die.
How long do you have it- how long is it inside already? Coniferous trees dont show signs of problems ( brown needles) untill its too late. so , if its not below zero in your part of the world place it outside and hope for the best. Check that drainage hole!!

I've had it for about a month and its been in that same pot since i bought it. I water it about twice a week and I take it out to get sun about 6 hours every other day. I did see that it doesn't have a drainage hole? Thank for the information provided. Any suggestions?

Suggestions: slippot it into a container with (a) hole(s) without touching or disturbing the roots. Place it outside in the sun and leave it there . Water when the soil feels dry, not on a schedule.
