Hi everyone! I am new to the bonsai world and to the forum - thank you for your help and patience
I received this bonsai tree as a gift about 5 months ago (early Summer 2020) and properly put it outside, as the label said it was an outdoor tree. It was very poorly annotated, but I self-IDed it as some sort of Azalea after it began flowering in late September (although the care guide on this website says Azaleas flower in late spring).
I live in NYC and have kept it outdoor the whole time, doing my best to carefully water it. The temperatures have started falling gradually but there has been no frost yet this year. Nonetheless, for the past ~2 weeks or so, the tree began to shed some of its leaves, while still flowering. See pictures below.
The care guide says that Azaleas do not typically shed, so I am now worried that it is suffering some sort of issue.
Can anyone help me confirm if this behavior is as expected, and if not, what I can do to rescue it?
Thank you

This is an azalea. There are fall blooming azaleas (hummingbirds like mine).
Every tree loses leaves or needles, but not necessarily all at once in the fall. If you label said this is a spring flowering species, throw it away because the rest of it is probably wrong. Keep the tree out of the wind and it will probably bust out in the spring.

They do sometimes flower in autumn especially if they have been grown in warmer conditions. I have one that is flowering for the second time this year. Nothing to worry about, but don't let it flower too long, remove the flowers and seed pods as they go over
