Hello hello

I got a Japanese Maple last month (picture below). So, since September I have kept it indoors because I did not know at that time that it does better outside. I have since moved it outside in a spot that gets morning sun and isn't too windy.

Does it look like it's doing okay? It's fall here and has been pretty cold, I live in the lower mainland of British Columbia.

Any and all advice is appreciated, t.i.a.!

Hi Kiran,
my maples stay outside for most of the time, only when it's freezing below -10°C for a few days in a row, I move it to a sheltered spot, but never inside. You can, if you are realy worried, rap your container in bubble plastic to protect the tree.
But I'm in Belgium, don't know what the weather is in your place.

There is almost certainly a bonsai group near you. Google will help you find them, and they can give specific advice about trees in the local climate.

That makes me feel a lot better about leaving it outside, it doesn't drop below -10 for too long around here. The weather is actually very mild, just lots of rain most of the year.

I have a Japanese Ace Maple. BC Lower Mainland too.
I kept my bonsai outside never inside maybe sheltered spot since it's raining almost everyday now same with snow..
