Ulmus parviflora - Complete Beginner HELP PLEASE was created by Najda

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen

This is my first post on this forum. I only registered cause I really need your help and to be honest I am a total beginner sooo...
Please don't judge me, I probably hurt my precious tree.

My journey beginned when my friends acknowledged that I always wanted to grow a bonsai tree. So they gave me one as a gift for my birthday at the beginning of August.
It is Ulmus parviflora. I read soem articles and kept it in a half sunny place and water it approximately every two days or when i spotted that it's dry. Also I tried to cut it slightly once a week as it was actively growing.

Unfrotunately my tree probably didn't feel good about my treatments and it started to drop leaves ~half of september. After that I moved it to a different spot, less sunny. I thought it's dying but watered it every couple days. Suddenly, about a week ago I saw it growing new twigs.
After that I named my tree "phoenix" as it almost felt like grew from the ashes after death :D
But seriously, please look at the photos and help me. How should i treat my tree, because like I mentioned I am a complete beginner. teach me pleaseeee.

Where in the world are you and what is your current season and weather?

If you are in the northern hemisphere and have recieved the first frost it sounds fully normal. I cannot see the picture thou.

Hiii! Thank you for your answer. I live in Poland, Europe. I can send you the pictures via email or sth.
So you say it's normal in the northern hemisphere? I just need some tips how to handle the tree.

EDIT:
Oh I forgot. The city I live in is Warsaw. It's the capital of Poland. I'd say it feels like very early autumn. Not so cold though. We had some colder dayse lately around 7 Celsius degrees but today for example was actually very warm cause around 19 degrees. That is really unusual.
Anyway you can check the longer term weather online:

Yes, chineese elms kept outside is decidious. It might loosing its leaves a little early for your location, but there are really nothing you can do about it right now. New leaves will not grow until spring, if it was healthy enough going into authumn that is.

The yellowish leaves and long internodes tell only one thing: not enough light.
This tree belongs outside, inside it will die

But the leave syou can see on the photos are new. And before it lost all the previous leaves. Let me know if you can see the photo now. I posted it in this reply. Should I keep it outside now or leave it where it is now?

Sorry, cannot see any Photo. So general comments only.

Yes, move it outside with slow adjustment to outside life. If you face temperature below -10 In winter, put it into some protection. Shed, basement, greenhouse or anywhere not getting that cold. Living room conditions in winter will kill chineese elms.

Thank all of you very much for advices :) I will move it outside. I was also wondering if the pot is big enough for this tree. The root is growing even over the soil. But also I read that changing the pot should be done in the spring season. Is that correct? Sorry that I'm bothering you guys I just have a lot of questions
Please follow this link to see the photo of the tree:
