Hi guys first post here. My Juniperus Squamata (15 yrs old ) has recently been browning off a little in places. I recieved this bonzai about 6 months ago. Whilst i have had a couple younger bonzai this is my first proper mature plant. Just curious on thoughts as to what it is. And also being it is coming into summer in townsville. North Queensland if it is perhaps normal. I think it may more be related to water/ sunlight rather than pests but just after some help. Thank you

I can't see anything wrong with it. They love heat and sun, and as long as you keep it watered it will be fine. The brown bits can be cut off, I hate this species, I have to wear gloves when I do anything to mine. Wish I had never bought it.
Looks quite a nice plant, apart from some wiring and pruning it is fine.

Okay thanks. Yeah i gave it a good prune about 3 months ago before spring. Needs another one. And im waiting for some foliage to beef up so i can wire it with more ease and get more effective fanning as alot of the foliage itself is quite thin. I actually really like the plant. Is a little prickly but. Will look good once i trim and work the pads back up was just worried because 1 whole little branch died off thanks again
