Hi, I'm a complete noob to bonsai growing. Regrettably, I did not learn enough before buying my first. I was too excited.
1) I've been watering it every few days (When soil is around dry).
2) I haven't really been doing much at all for it otherwise. I have had it for 3 weeks.
HOWEVER **I put a humidifer in my room for the first time and the next day, the bonsai tree had a small piece of white mold growing on one leaf. I cut part of the stem off.
3) The leafs are starting to turn light green.
Can I know if my tree is dying? What measures can I take to save it if its still alive.
Thanks!
One more thing! I have no idea what kind of bonsai it is because I purchased it from a grocery store. Not from a garden or a bonsai store.

Well, it is not a bonsai. Its the branches of one type of ficus grafted on the roots of another.
I kow they are labelled bonsai but they are not and will never be. a common houesplant forum will be able to help you better with your questions.
But if you are interested in bonsai, this is a good place to start, good forum, lots of info to find. Good luck

Hello;
yours is a nice ficus, "tiger bark".
Green leaves are the new ones, right?
This is a good sign!
Make sure the "mold" is not simply hard water from your faucet.
