Help needed with recenty acquired Saplings. was created by maheshbiyer

Dear Friends,I have recently received two Saplings that I intend to turn into bonsai trees in due course. One is a Japanese Maple and the other is a Baobab. I will attach their pictures along with this. My query is, how do I start my bonsai journey with these plants. Do I begin to immediately prune them? If yes, how do you suggest I go about it?

A bit more info is needed. First of all in what part of the world do you live ? ( northern or southern hemisphere).
Second:they need to be in a container asap.Just use good potting soil, dont touch the roots.

As LucR suggested, they have to be put in proper vases. They are very young, don't prune now as they must grow.
You can "baby bend" them with aluminum wires or zip ties, softly, gently.

Thank you so much for your reply @LucR. I live in the northern part of India. Right now it's cool at night and hot during the day. Yes, I followed your advice and potted them.
Thank you and best regards

Thank you for your response @clicio. I'll try and slightly bend the maple. I have two questions though.
1. Wich is better: aluminium or copper wire?
2. Is it advisable to bend the Baobab from the bonsai point of view? Or should i allow it to grow straight?
Regards
