Hi guys, I've been tending for this bonsai for quite a while but since maybe two months the wood has started to look wet-ish near the soil. Can anyone explain what this is and what I might do to change it?

Sorry to say but that is not a bonsai, it's a ficus ginseng, a common houseplant so you might find better answers for your problem in a houseplants forum?

This is the first time I have seen this. Hope that recovers soon.
