Hello,
after some reading about indoor vs outdoor bonsai, I've came to the conclusion that my ficus ginseng will have to be brought inside during the fall/winter. Also, I understand indoor lighting might not ne sufficient.
So, I was thinking of building a small setup/enclosure with a grow light.
Would any of this work? I would prefer a white light, as opposed to the purple lights.
I am a bit confused in terms of what amount of light a bonsai needs.

What the plant needs is sunlight. You may be able to set up a grow light setup that has the same wavelengths and strength as the winter sun, but that will be some research. There is some time to do that, but most of us here have outdoor plants and there isn't much help to be had.
As you set up the grow lights you will need to consider humidity, air motion, etc. Bugs are a problem, aphids, spider mites, white flies, etc.
Maybe a house plant forum would help.

A bonsai needs sunlight, but what you have is generally not considered as a bonsai but just a common houseplant.

lucR and Ivan Mann, I understand sunlight is the best light for bonsai.
I also understand that most bonsai are trees, and therefore should be outside, exposed to sunlight.
However, from what I understand, ficus ginseng shouldn't be exposed to temperatures lower than 15?C, so I will have to bring it inside and I don't have a place inside where they can get a lot of sunlight, so my best alternative is grow lights.
Also, I don't see why you keep referring to this species as "not bonsai material" since even the website where this forum is hosted considers it to be:
www.bonsaiempire.com/tree-species/ficus
I was looking for more of a scientific answer such as they need x lumen for x amount of hours per day. Still, as always, thank you for your replies.

Ficus will do fine with normal sunlight in winter, behind the windows. We have a large one that gets no additional light. Yes, it grows much better in summer outside, but .. No real issues in winter.
Just look for regular LED plant lights. They work fine if you feel you want to add to it. Take a look here too:
