I've noticed new leaf growth on my Shimpaku which is needle shaped instead of rounded. Is this normal?
P.S. sorry for the poor picture quality as my camera could not focused. leaf is marked in red.

That’s called juvenile foliage.
Appears when the plant is under stress, like having been pruned too hard or similar.
Just leave it alone and take good care of the plant, it will disappear on its own in a season or two.
