Hi all! Recently shaped and repotted my first Juniper. I connected it to my water-drip irrigation system, where it was watered daily with drip right above roots. Also, it is facing south-east, and got a looot of sunlight in some heated summer days. It is drying out and breaking my heart. I have been careful in moisting the roots during repotting. I've now placed it in shade and increased the watering, but any help to increase its survival chances are appreciated!

But...
I think seriously that NO dripping systems at all should water bonsai.
Do it by hand, once or twice a day during the summer and do not leave it near walls. Radiation from the sun can kill bonsai in a matter of hours.

I've removed it from the dripping system and will water manually. However, could you further elaborate on why you think a dripping system is not suited? As I am often abroad travelling - in normal times - I thought that could be my insurance against dying plants.
I will water it gently with a watering can now, as well as moist its branches in the morning when it's not yet hot. Any other recommendation for the emergency recovery, so that it does not die on me?

Where are you located? Right now, in the northern hemisphere, is the worst possible time to repot and prune.

Put it in the shade to help it recover and water as needed. It might be to late, but worth a try.

The watering system works well, when it works. I had one and fiddled with it for weeks getting it to work, and had problems when I trusted it and it didn't work.

I got it working, went on vacation, and my friendly neighbors noticed one day we had left town and the water was running, so they turned the water off for me. Three of twenty seven survived.

It has happened before, the "friendly neighbour trying to help", turning off the irrigation system and killing all trees.

I tape the tap with electrical tape when I leave. That way people will think twice before actually shutting it down.

Just as easy would've been for me to talk with them before I left. That would have been real sociable of me. They are really friendly and thought they were doing me a favor.

When the young man who waters for me now goes away I will probably look for someone in the club to swap watering favors with.

How do you sée that thé juniper is diying ? Would help me with m'y too

I'm located in Switzerland.

As you can see, the branches closer to the trunk are the ones that are starting to dry out more... only the top branch seems fine.

I've called the store where I did my workshop and asked for support, and they suggested in maybe watering it LESS? I am beyond confused right now. The soil is quite well draining, but could that be worth a try? I've otherwise watered it daily, as temperature are quite high (30C). It is now in the shade, but the soil never completely dried out... so maybe that could be it?
