Just picked it up at Home Depot and trying to figure out what kind of bonsai it is (I'm thinking juniper but not certain).
Also, need some advice for care. The man at Home Depot said it's an indoor plant but what I'm reading online is that Juniper's are outdoor. The rocks covering the soil are all glued to stay put so kinda hard to tell if it needs water.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm already in love with this bonsai tree!

Although I know you are very happy with your tree it is far from being a bonsai : it is just a young tree planted in a pot and sold as bonsai. But that doesn't mean it can become one in 10 years or so, given the proper care.

Kage wrote: Thanks guys. Please forgive my ignorance on this but I have more questions. So because I was looking for an indoor bonsai, I'm wondering if it would be viable to put it outside for 4-5 hours a day then bring it in? Also, at what point is it defined as a bonsai?
Thanks
sorry out side, all it's life. With special care some plants can winter indoors, but not junipers

Another thing that plants really dislike is being moved around, so place it somewhere outside in the sun and leave it there.
