Hi!
I live in the US and was gifted an azalea bonsai about two months ago. I've noticed the plant not doing so well (dropping leaves), and after reading some forums, I've realized I need to keep the little tree outdoors. I chose not to at first because I live in an apartment and summers can be excessively hot where I'm at.
That said, today I've also noticed some white at the base, as well as some brown spots on a few leaves.
I'm worried it might be mold or a fungus, but hopeful that it could be another symptom of being kept indoors. Should I pick up something for root rot or should I wait and see how the tree does outdoors?
I'll appreciate any advice or words of wisdom-- I'm totally a beginner.
Thank y'all!
Jade

Yes it needs to be outside, with no drip tray. Put it in a shady spot for the first few days.
