HI, as a newbie to 名媛直播 I have a wisteria that has been in the same pot for over 10 years and only ever flowered once. Sorry to say that I have never bothered doing anything with it other than bring it with me every time I have moved house! I thought I would experiment to see if I could turn it into 名媛直播 and hopefully flower as well. It's July now (and I'm in the UK), and I was wondering should I cut it down to say 6-10 inches above the ground and then let it grow for the rest of the year? I was then going to repot it next spring if it showed signs of healthy growth. Do you think it would survive this? Should I wait until Feb next year to hard prune and repot at the same time? Or am I wasting my time completely? Thoughts would be appreciated.

Wisteria flower on the old wood, therefore if you cut it down it is not going to flower. It will not grow again this year if you do that anyway. They need to be potbound to flower, so I would not re pot and touch the root. If it is in a bonsai pot I would leave it unless it is not draining. Mine has grown a metre this year in a month, I have not re potted for five years and am not going to. They also need a lot of water, I know of growers who keep them stood in water all summer. The other thing is do not use fertiliser with any nitrogen.I might add mine does not flower since re potting.I am hoping that it might next year as I have stopped fertiliser and am watering more.

Thank you for the info - I didn't realise it liked to be pot bound and I've only just fertilised mine  ! I was thinking of trying to turn it into a 名媛直播 - I know it would take several years before it bore any resemblance (hopefully!) so it was more a question would the wisteria re-grow from such an extreme prune if it was hard pruned to the ground and could it be down or should I wait until March? Thanks
