Hi guys I am Moon. I am new to this hobby and love the way one of those trees look. I have had a ficus virens sapling which I got from amazon but after a year it looks exactly the way I got it a year ago. Can someone help?!

What do you mean by "one of those trees"?
So, let me see if i understand this correect: you bought a sapling and you expect it to become a bonsai all by itself in a year? I think you got the whole bonsai idea completely wrong. 名媛直播 is not a tree species, or a dwarf version of a tree, its a way of transforming a normal full grown tree into a mini or small tree in a pot that looks like the normal tree. This is done by numerous actions and techniques over decades.

I know that friend. I have read all guide lines on this site an I am watering and doing as they state. However the plant looks exactly the same as I had when I bought it. I just want to know that I havent been scammed by amazon seller I bought it to grow from. I know how long it takes to grow a bonsai.

a good advice: dont buy plants from amazon: go to a local nursery and buy a plant that you can see.
Can you ost a picture from your plant: a closeup and a total

What on earth is that plant growing in?
Has it not grown a single new leaf in a year?
Is it outside or in?
Where are you located?
This plant needs a repot in decent soil, and needs at least 10 years of decent growth to become something remotely looking like a pre-bonsai.

Gee, you dont have to be so mean. And by the way that is bonsai soil....Just that it is dry...And by the way new leaves have grown. When I got it, it was only two leaves. Now It has mulltiple leaves.

Mean- where have I been mean? I am just asking questions to be able to help you.
You say it hasn't changed in a year and now you say it has grown leaves, so it did change.
That is not bonsai soil, it's just sand/ mud. Soil that looks this way when dry is absolutely not fitted to be used as soil for a plant in a container. And why is it so dry, plants need water to thrive.
So, as I said: repot in decent soil or in the ground depending on where you live, give plenty of water and sunlight and let it grow for a long time.

Hi Moony, welcome to the Empire.

Your ficus is very dry and indeed, it has not grown much.

I am not sure where you are located. If you have warm weather, you can water this species well and frequently. They love water and light.
The soil in the pot is very dense, I think it is hard to grow well in for the plant. Do you have alternatve options?

For now, start with watering the plant more, and see whether you can give it a bit of fertilizer.
