Hi all,
Very new to this but extremely interested and excited for the years to come. I recently planted some black pine seeds, and want to grow my own bonsai (preferred the idea of doing it all myself rather than dealing with nursery stock)
After planting around 16 seeds into a separate cell seed tray, 4 of them have germinated. Now a couple of weeks in they seem to be doing okay.
I know it's a long road ahead, but I just have a couple of questions if someone could point me in the right direction.
When should I start adding fertiliser?
When should I repot them into their own individual larger pots?
Can anyone recommend a good pot size to get them going? I know it will take a while but I want to get the trunk thickening nicely. Have looked into cutting but due to only having a couple of seedlings I'm doubtful they would survive.
Any advice would be great!

At the top of the web page here are several links. Click How-To and read what is there. Click Tree species and find your breed; read up on it.
There are other bonsai fora; go there and read up on how to and on JBP.
Actually, before you do all that, put the little seedlings in a pretty large pot, or maybe in the ground, and keep them outside and pretty well watered. Then start reading/researching. Everything you asked is answered in great detail several places on the web.
