Hi. I would like your professional advice. I purchased this lovely little juniper a month ago. Until 10 days ago, it looked like the first picture you see. I fed it fertilizer (Peter's 20-20-20 as recommended by the grower) for the first time on Monday, June 15th. I keep it outside, it get lots of sunlight, I mist the foliage every day, and until recently I was watering every day which I now know is not recommended. I fear that I might have over-watered this little guy. For now, I'm keeping it in its usual spot outside but only misting the foliage, not watering the soil, to give it a chance to dry out as there is still some moisture at the bottom of the pot. I shake the branches to check for spider mites - so far, no infestation from what I can tell. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this - I do really love my bonsai and would like to take the best care of it. Thanks.

Of course it is outside, that is where it must be. Stop misting, water when needed, if it is warm most days, and just because it rains does not mean it has enough water. What are we looking for? It looks ok

You can tell in the latter 5 pictures that it's yellowed in the 10 days since the first picture. I shouldn't be concerned about that? Also, should I leave it out in the rain?

Yes, rain is not a problem for trees.

Trees do not migrate from outside to inside, or hide from rain, cold,... Give it a sunny spot, and water when needed, that's it.

Finally found a thread that I needed, phew. I'm new at this too and bought the same kind of mallsai which I repotted and have left alone for 3 months now. It is quite healthy and looking good. At the same time I trimmed (with scissors) any bottom branches so there would be nothing growing down . That's as far as I dared. I'm not sure where to go from here. I would like to have some pads but don't know how to start or what to look for. Is it too soon to plan for them? How long do I leave it alone while the roots settle and grow? Reading up on pruning I keep coming across the word "silhouette ". Does this mean to imagine the tree without greenery and just look at the trunk and branches? I have so many questions and this looks like a great place to learn. Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

As a general rule of thumb you only do one major action a year on a tree. There are of course exceptions, and your skill level ,health of the tree and species are also important.
But if I read your topic, I think it's best to leave it alone for now, that gives you the time to study, or go to a bonsai club, lessons in this forum...
名媛直播 is a marathon, not a sprint, there is nothing you need to do"now" , so sit back, look at your tree from all sides, watch it grow and study, the answer will come in time and with your skill level. What is also important is general horticultural knowledge, without that you will never keep your trees healthy
Btw, it is easier to start a new thread when you have questions about your own tree, you will get more views and answers

The strength in Juniper is in the foliage, so do not remove a lot at one time, and do not pinch use scissors. Allow the shoots to grow before pruning. I would not be using the fertiliser you have, sounds too much. It should also be organic if it is not I would not use it. 20.20.20 is far too high in nitrogen.

Thank you so much lucR for your insight. I will do as you say and leave it for now while doing more research . I am a long time gardener and know you can't hurry nature, well sometimes you can but I don't think that applies to bonsai :) I also see the wisdom now in starting my own thread. Cheers for your advice and help.
