I've had a Juniper bonsai for 8 months indoors. Its alive but not as healthy as it could be and after some quick research I've come to see a juniper should live outdoors, the only problem is I live in southern California where it is extremely dry and gets extremely hot (summer can reach over 110). Is it still best to leave outside in a climate such as mine? Or should I keep it indoors by the window and open it regularly so it gets light and air? I also have a few fish tanks in my room and the evaporation in my room means there's some humidity (at least I would assume) Any advice would be helpful as I'm new to this.

110??? that is hotter than boiling water???
Junipers dye inside ( as almost all trees do). Junipers can stand extreme weather, but you will have to take care of it outside: water regularly, check oe or twice a day depending on temperatures.
But: if it is showing signs of poor health it could already be dead. Thats the problem with coniferous species: their needles stay green a long time after the plant has already died.
Can you post a picture to see if there is still hope?

where in socal are you located?
im in riverside. i have several junipers and all do just fine and we get the same heat you would. all i do is make sure i keep up on watering. during mid summer i usually have to water up to twice a day but there are days when i have to water 3 time when we get dry hot winds. keep in mind i never water to a schedule as it may seem like i water twice a day everyday for 3-4 months there are random days where only once is sufficient. But even with 110*F+ they are still alive and thriving.

Here's a picture, I'm unsure if it is still living now that you said they stay green for a while after dying, at least now I know there an outdoor tree.
