Hi, I've had this tree since October of last year and this is the first growing season I've experienced with it. I've noticed over the past couple weeks that the leaves on the plant have gradually been folding up, like a canoe or a taco shell. I checked the leaves for signs of disease, but there's no sap blobs, discolored spots, or signs of aphid damage.

I use 3 month slow-release general purpose 24/24/24 fertilizer pellets as well as supplementing with 10/10/10 liquid fertilizer roughly every 2-3 weeks since the growing season started, and have been following the usual watering method of waiting till the soil is dried out till about a centimeter down before watering until the water flows out the drainage holes. The soil mixture is the generic 1:1:1 akadama, pumice, and volcanic rock because I have no familiarity with this plant beyond some basic info in a few books I've read.

What is it I can do to reverse this trend? I really enjoyed the flowers this plant gave me back in February and would like to see more.

If geography helps, I live in a 7a climate zone. Attached are pictures of what I'm talking about.

That is what they are supposed to do!! It is normal and nothing to worry about and you can't do anything about it
