I have absolutely no idea what website you are using as a guide but here goes..
If you want to attach the wire to the pot, usuinally a good bonsai pot offers 2 options and a third exists if it is not a good bonsai pot.
- Good pots will have large holes for drainage. And a bunch of small holes too. THese are for the wire: You push the wirefrom the bottom of the pot up, through 2 holes. You can then use the two end in the pot to secure the tree. Do this before putting substrate in the pot.
- Failing the small holes: If you have 2 or more drainage holes, you place the mesh that stops the substrate falling out of the pot over the holes, secured properly. Then you push the wire from the bottom of the pot through the drainage holes. Simila as above.
If you have a pot with 1 hole, no wire holes.. You normally take a thick (say 5mm) piece of wire longer than the size of the hole. Take wire that you want to use to secure the tree in the pot, fold it in the middle and twist it with one or two turns around the 5mm wire. After securing the substrate mesh you push the securing wire up from the bottom. The 5mm wire will stop it from pulling through.
Sorry, no pctures at hand.
