Brown Leaves

Any advice would be great please. I noticed last week that there were lots of miniscule bugs in the soil of my Ficus bonsai (but not on the tree itself). I repotted with new soil and trimmed any extra long roots whilst I was at it. Since repotting it, the leaves on my bonsai have been going brown. I gave it some bonsai feed after repotting it and am worrying that I maybe shouldn't have done that so soon after repotting. It is planted in a pot that has a reservoir at the bottom. Could it be where I have trimmed the roots, it can no longer access the water in the reservoir? Or is it likely I'm over watering, underwatering or too hot. I'm still a beginner when it comes to bonsais, but I have had this for about 3 years now so will be gutted if I lose it!

What do you mean reservoir? Only you know how much water you have been giving, and no fertiliser was wrong.

Was it small White bugs that jump when touched or blown at? In that case, springtails, no harm to the tree, but an indicator of over watering.
Never fertilize newly repotted trees.
