Hi All,
I am a new jade bonsai owner and I fear I may have over watered my tree.
I have a couple pictures to help you confirm for me. The trunk seems rather dark towards the base .
Can it be rescued?
Do I need to re-pot it?
Or am I fussing about nothing?

your tree is fine. dont water every day. after all it just a succulent and sorry to burst your bubble but cant really consider this a bonsai. i have a few growing in pots and i let them run i little on the dry side. i even forget to water them sometimes and they are still alive.

@crent89, please refrain from saying wrong things, obviously this plant is a bonsai, maybe youre a beginner but 名媛直播 literally is translated as "tray planting". I hope i could teach you something. cheers

To be fair I was puzzled but, I have found this site so useful of late, valuing your opinions.
Thank you for clearing that up and your help.

What makes you think the plant is suitable to be called bonsai? Just because you quote the literal translation?
I f you want a truer definition then "bonsai is the generation and distribution of energy to create an asthetically pleasing image"

I called it so as that's how it was sold to me. I won't sue the seller for misrepresentation.

i sure do hope you can teach me something because by the sounds of it you are well experienced and thats the typical answer one would get from a beginner. yes bonsai is a tree planted in a pot. but bonsai also means a tree that shows age and certain characteristics resembles signs of struggle from natural elements. if that was the case i can call my wifes rose bush planted in a pot a bonsai :whistle: you cant just get any tree repot it in a pot and bam done its a bonsai. it just simply doesnt work that way. there is a reason why it takes years even decades to create a bonsai. if it was that easy trust me trees would be worth thousands of dollars. why would any one pay that much money for something they can easily create in one day.

sorry to hijack this thread @CitizenSoul. with the proper care this can possibly become a bonsai. it may takes years but i have seen a few jade trees become fairly decent bonsai trees. since these are not woody trees and branches are held up by water pressure inside it makes it a little hard to set branches in place with wire but it can be done to a certain extent. as i mentioned before i have a few that i do practice bonsai techniques with but mostly the cut and grow method rather than wiring branches.
