Defsam wrote: Hi my Ilex Crenata has been showing dark leaves which eventually fall out. Is it something to worry about? It is kept in a balcony in the shade but I live in Malta and its super hot at the moment 21degrees and 57% humidity. I water every now and then when the soil feels a bit dry not too much. Also giving it bonsai fertiliser bought from a plant store every 2 weeks. Any help with this situation please? Im quite new to bonsai . Cheers!

Water it with a sprinkler can or hose attachment washing the leaves. Water until water pours out of the bottom holes. This is important for the roots to get fresh air.
