Juniperus sabina in danger

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum.
I need some help with my two juniper bonsai.
I bought the trees in February from a specialised retailer. Since I got the tree it goes downwards. The needles are turning brown, get brittle and fall off. Some from the tips others from the branch. I read that juniper sabina doesn't like wet soil so I water it less now every 3 to 4 days. I also mist the foliage almost every day. I dig my finger in the soil to check if its still wet. The water is also running out of the bottom of the pot, so I don't think it has water staying in the pot.
The tree stands inside with humidity control and plant lights. They will get dormancy in winter.
Any help would be appreciated

Outside. Keeping it inside is the problem. Watering to a schedule is also a problem, you need to check the soil and water when almost dry. Stop misting.

When this happens, that part of the tree has been dead for weeks.Todd85 wrote: Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum.

Worst possible choice, and most likely the source of the issue.Todd85 wrote: The tree stands inside with humidity control and plant lights.

Hi, I don't water to a schedule, I just wanted to point out that when I check the humidity of the soil, it is dry after 3-4 days so I water again around that time.
Why is misting bad?

Is that so? I wonder why the trees grow massive new foliage in other places. I don't get it. I try to find a new owner now, but in the meantime I try my best to keep it alive and healthy.
Can you give reasons for the light problem? My lux from the lamp is higher than the average sunlight in Northern Europe. And also it covers the full spectrum of sunlight.

The lamp is not as much as sunlight even where you are. Juniper sabina is not the easiest species of Juniper anyway, it needs higher amount of sun intensity, even in England it can be difficult as the light intensity is lower than in southern Europe. You would be better growing a native species for your region,

Hi,
I accept, that it might not be the right environment.
With the lamp you are wrong though. Good lamps can mimic or even beat sunlight.
There is more scientific research available if you want to dig into that.
Yet you are still right and it's the wrong place. there is more to it than just light and I will look for a better environment.
Thank you for your feedback!
