Hey everyone! Wondering if I should let this new juniper grow out/mature more before wiring. There are two nice "arms" growing in either direction that will make for a nice upward twist interplay. Is it best to wait until it grows and matures more or can I/should I wire it up now to start getting my desired bends?

(I think) I've attached a photo. It's a small, 4 or 5 inch tall, about 6 inch wide (end of one of the two splitting branches to the other) sappling.

I appreciate the help!

Sorry, no picture has been attached. This happens sometimes when making a new post and you forgot something. The frum software then looses the picture. Try addiing it directly to a post now.

I think I know what you have there. A central trunk, with 2 branches left and right, sort of like an umbrella? I think if you start looking for Juniper bonsai you will find other forms. The umbrella is not really much of bonsai. So I would encourage you to look into a different shae, where one arem stays sideways but the bigger of the two goes upwards, make it more tree-like.

Thank you! Is it too young to wire? Should I allow it to grow out and create more wood before trying to shape it?

Depends what you mean by "shape it".
