Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone could send some pearls of wisdom. I have a chinese elm, about 9/10 years old, recently re-potted in Feb of this year, the following month I saw some amazing growth, very full and green, then suddenly started dropping leaves. I water when the soil is dry to touch, feed once a week, it was inside but has been outside from the start of spring (end of March ish) in UK and can’t see evidence of any pests. Can’t think what’s wrong but it’s not happy about something. Most dropped leaves look healthy but a couple have looked as in the attachment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello Harry.
My guess is your Chinese Elm hasn’t been able to experience a winter dormancy where it rest and prepares for the coming growing season. In a warm house the tree will still think it’s summer with temps being 15C plus. It also could be a reaction from the repotting. I leave my 2 Chinese Elms outside year round, I’m in the north UK
