Hey everyone! I just received a medium sized Brazilian Rain Tree and I have a few questions I'm hoping you can help with
I live in New York City and I'm keeping the bonsai indoors in a room near a window that faces NW and have bought two different grow lights that I set up as shown in the attached photo. One light is supposedly “full spectrum” with a 21 Blue LEDs and 39 Red LEDs and can be found here -
The other has different modes but I keep it on warm light - it can be found here -
I’m wondering if these lights will provide enough additional light for the plant to thrive. Any thoughts?
Also, when it arrived, I noticed some of the leaves were yellow! Any thoughts on the best fertilizer to use or if I should check to see if perhaps the roots are already overgrown for the pot even though i just received it? I take it outside on warm days so it can get some real sun too (60+ degrees)
Thanks a bunch!

Young foliage is yellow on BRT. That is not a fertilizer issue.
You can use any old regular plant fertilizer for green houseplants.

Sorry, But what is BRT? and why would fertilizer matter on the Buss Rapid Transit?

BRT is an abbreviation commonly used when talking about Brazilian Rain Tree bonsai. Considering this is a bonsai forum it is quite unlikely anybody is talking about local bus systems

Theoretically that kind of blurple light is optimum. But I just hate the colour of it. Have used both real full spectrum light and blurple light and am convinced that plants dont care about that theori.
Ny experience with grow light is from a wide Range of plants, but not bonsai. I Only keep outdoor bonsai which thrive in natural light.
