Bleeding Green Island Ficus

My ficus seems to be bleeding. No holes. No pruning. No cats allowed in the room. Cleaned with toothbrush that turned blood red. Purchased 2 weeks ago. Zone 6a/b USA

Odd. Looks like it has been damaged but you say that is not possible. Never seen this before I am afraid.

Maybe it got damaged before you got it? How long has it been with you?

Have you contacted the seller and ask them? That would be the first step to take, before asking a forum I would say

Could be that you brushed the trunk to hard and it started to bleed and that would turn your bark a darker color.
that would be my guesse there is nothing in the ficus that would turn it red.
