Is Our Tree Dying?! was created by KFW名媛直播

Hello everyone,

This is really the first time that my wife and I have interacted on the forum. I hope that I will be able to state the problem succinctly and get the necessary direction.

My wife and I have had our tree for just shy of one year I would say. It is our first bonsai.
The lady who we purchased it from claimed that it was 6 years old, maybe 9, since my memory is lacking a bit.

Up to this point in time we have had no problems, that is, until this week.
Recently we moved into a condo and our bonsai, Larry, has been receiving a great deal of sun! We live in West Texas and Larry sits on the west side of our condo.
Prior to moving here, Larry had a comfortable spot situated in a partially shaded area on the north side of our home. There were no problems at that time. We have lived in our condo for a month now and already I can see that the leaves on our tree are fading in color and some have even turned brown.

I might also add that we have not repotted our bonsai since purchasing it, even though we had originally planned to do so in March.

What do we do to mitigate this and how might we prevent it from getting any worse?! Is the solution as simple as exposing our bonsai to less sunlight or will it require some nursing back to health?

Thank you!

Try loading the pictures as pictures, not zip files.

I would like to add that it was 105 degrees outside today. Perhaps the heat is too much for our tree?
Also, in addition to never having repotted the tree, we have never fertilized it either.

I am starting to read some of the articles on this website pertaining to those tasks. Looks like I need to figure out where to buy a pot!

Trees get sunburn when exposed to full sun after a long time in a shaded position. I think this is what is happening here. Do you have a half-way position wher eyou can increase the time exposed to sun & the intensity (Midday is stronger than evening and night)?

Keeping it well watered is also important. I am lucky to live in a country where we do not regularly get these temps, so I am not sure. The few weeks that we had temps approaching the 38/39c last year, I would spray all my trees around 1 in the afternoon for a cooldown. (But I have a sprinkler with timer I could set during workdays..)

When it's a hundred and five in the shade, leaves turn a bit brown. Junipers really thrive in such conditions, Don't over water.
They don't look like it's been hot very long, they really look just fine

It gets that hot here, but it will be another month or two. I am "lucky" to have a neighbor who won't cut trees down to the west so the trees get shade starting about 2:00 and I don't have experience with heat and sun all day. If you can give them some shade it won't hurt.

In hot climates the trees go semi dormant in the middle of the summer and they look a little dried but don't let that scare you. Keep them watered.
