Hello. I would like to purchase a maple bonsai and i found a site here in my country (Romania). The price is around 36USD. The question is why is the bonsai without any leaves? Do they cut all the leaves? Can someone explain to me what is the thing?.
Thanks in advance

its a deciduous tree, meaning it drops all its leaves during its winter dormancy.

The picture was probably taken in winter.
It is a good thing: You can actually see the trunk and branches, and decide whether you want to spend the money on this tree

Looks like the Photo was taken in early spring to me. I Think my weak eyes see buds swelling on that tree.
Anyway, in romania, I Think it would be in full leaf by now. I am in Sweden and Most maples are in leaf or soon to be.
If you are curious about how it looks right now, just ask the seller for an updated picture.
