Maple and plum tree trouble

Hello, I'm new here and I'm sorry if I'm doing this wrong. So I apologise. I'm also new to bonsai.
I have a Japanese maple (momiji) and plum (ume) that I think may be experiencing some kind of repot shock.
I repotted them both early February (I live in Japan, region 9b) after reading some suggestions that late winter/early spring was a good time to. Both had no leaves at all then, just buds.
Anyways, here we are mid April and the leaves appear to be kind of withering, no yellowing. I added solid fertilizer right after repotting in February. I Iater read that may have not been good.
I water when the dirt appears to be dry, usually daily in the morning. I think the drainage is good, but I may have made some mistakes. I don't think I'm over or under watering. The soil does appear kinda dry sometimes though, but only on sunny days. Cloudy days it seems like I could skip a day of watering even.
There were some pest issues but I'm using a vinegar based repellent that is chemical free.
I attached photos of them both below. The photos were taken inside but they're both outdoor trees.
Appreciate any help and thank you very much in advance.

Ehm.. vinegar that is chemical free? What is that?
Your ume seems to be potted too high. Was it in this pot?
The trees in itself do not look too bad from what I can tell. Are they actually growing?

Vinegar is that considered a chemical? I’m not sure actually. I haven’t used it in about 5 days. Was thinking it could have been a problem, so I stopped. The bugs don’t seem too bad as of late anyways.
Yeah the Ume is high, you think the pot is too low? I don’t have any bigger pots
on hand actually.
They’re growing, I think. Just the leaves on the maple especially don’t look all that great is my biggest concern.

Nothing wrong with the maple, providing you only had it inside to take pictures. Fertiliser right after re pot is not advised. Vinegar is not an insecticide, and if you did not know what the problem was why use it? You are not watering properly it seems, if the soil is dry then you should be watering and thoroughly. If there are insects then you need to treat with an insecticide and read the instructions before using.

Thanks m5eaygeoff. I will make sure not to fertilize after repots. When do you recommend I do it after repots? Few weeks? Month?
So you think it could be underwatering?
I'm not certain of what is in the insecticide but my wife (native Japanese) said that it's probably ok, she uses it on her blueberry trees (not bonsai). I

A few close ups of the leaves I’m concerned about.

Usually several weeks, it also depends on the species time of year and what you are trying to achieve

Update:
After the last couple days as you suggested it turns out I think it was under-watering for the maple. I started watering twice a day and the leaves perked right back up. I think the Ume (Japanese plum tree) is fine now too. Pests may be an issue later in summer but for now they seem to be gone.
Thanks again.

Happy to see it is doing better. To be honest, I wonder whether it is the watering. Pretty much all my maples look like this when they first bud out, and still need to growth to their final leave size.
