Hey guys, I'm new here and in bonsai. This seems so nice and interesting. But I have one question, I would like to start my bonsai from seed, but I don't know which specie I should get. I like juniper from pines and japanese maple, sakura and silver birch from deciduous trees. But one I would like so much to have is fig. Is any of this possible to grow from seed at home? Especially juniper, silver birch and fig.

Are these trees hard for begginers?

Btw I found one walnut in garden, which started to sprout. Can I make bonsai of it?

Hi, welcome!

Don’t start 名媛直播 by growing from seed. It will take years before you’ll get anything usefull. (+10y...)

Invest in a prebonsai is the best advice imo.
If possible join a local bonsai community, they’ll guide you and can answers all your questions.

Growing from seeds is fun to do btw, but should not be your main focus.

Don't invest in a pre-bonsai. Good pre-bonsai are expensive and you don't know how to take care for it yet.

I'd buy nursery material to start with.

He can invest in a prebonsai if he takes it to a workshop.
Forgot to mention that part.
It’s how I’m doing it

I don't have any bonsai community in my countr and I don't think here is anybody else who like bonsai, or maybe have one. We have here bonsai to buy, but that is usually chinese elm, or something common like that and that is in flower shop, not in some bonsai strict shops and no one buy it here, I remember one bonsai that is still in shop since 2016 or 2017. Here is nobody who can teach me something about bonsai. I planted yesterday 3 sprouted oak seeds, which I fount in nearby forest and one walnut which I found in our garden, which sprouted too. Can I make something of that. I don't care if it gonna take several years, I'm 16, I have enought time! :) Btw, that chinese elm in that flower shop, should I buy it? It look really nice and I would like to have already grown while these are growing. I would like to plant some juniper seed, but I can't find them here, I can only buy some on ebay.

That chineese Elm that has been in the shop for 3 years or more........If it is still healthy it should be quite overgrown by now. If it is, yes that could be a good material to start practising on.
