My bonsai recently lost its leaves because I didn’t realise it is unable to stand the sun here in Singapore. The temperature here averages 31 degrees. Previously I had this bonsai from my friend and I’m too afraid to tell him. It has lost almost all its leaves. Now I would water it once everyday and ensure it’s in a shady environment at all times. What else can I do to help it? It once looked like that however now it’s basic at that with barely any leaves

I wonder if you took it inside to take the picture. In Japan Satsuki will not be harmed by 31C in summer. I think it is possible that it has been dry at some time, causing the loss of leaves assuming that you have checked for insects. If it has been inside then that is the cause of the loss of leaves as well. It does not need shade that much, only in the height of the day.
